Dear Diary, the market has corn husk dolls.

There’s a kind of magick that feels both ancient and familiar, like something you’ve always known but forgot you remembered. That’s the feeling I had the first time I saw Crimson Sage’s work.
Based in the desert sun of Arizona, Crimson Sage crafts traditional folk poppets from natural materials—wheat straw, corn husks, wood, and copper. Each one feels like it carries the breath of the old world, handmade with care and intention. The artist herself is a poet, kitchen witch, alchemist, editor, and mother—a woman weaving all of her gifts into these little guardians of magick.
When her catalog first crossed my desk, I felt an immediate spark. And when the box finally arrived at our little Eagle, Idaho studio, that spark turned into a full flame. Opening it felt like opening a treasure chest. These corn husk doll poppets are so special—something you might expect to see on an altar in your favorite witchy movie, but also sweet enough that you could imagine picking one up at a Renaissance faire. That balance of sacred and playful makes them feel alive.
Of course, I’ve already tucked one aside for myself (how could I not?). I can’t wait for everyone to meet Crimson Sage and discover the magick she brings to the Market.
